Chicago Bears Trade Chase Claypool to the Miami Dolphins

The Bears have traded wide receiver Chase Claypool to the Miami Dolphins ending the fourth-year player's tenure in Chicago.

The Bears acquired Claypool in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers in March of 2022. He finished the 2022 season with 34 receptions, 320 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

The Bears have not yet announced what they will receive in return for Claypool. The team is expected to make an announcement later today.

Claypool was drafted by the Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He quickly became a key part of the Steelers offense, catching 62 passes for 873 yards and nine touchdowns in his rookie season. However, his production declined in 2021 and 2022, and he was traded to the Bears in March.

The Dolphins are hoping that Claypool can be a key part of their offense in 2023. The team is led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is looking for a reliable target to throw to. Claypool has the potential to be that target, and the Dolphins are hoping that he can reach his full potential in Miami.
